FACILITATOR

Gloria Alejandra Flores grew up at the U.S-Mexico Border between the cities of Ciudad Jua¡rez, Chih. and El Paso, Tx.

She is currently a PhD candidate in Latin American Cultural Studies at the University of Arizona. Her research focuses on the cultural, literary and pedagogical politics of bodily movement and dance within the Southern American Hemisphere.

Gloria is trained in contemporary and Spanish dance. She earned her B.A and M.A.T in Dance Performance and Pedagogy from the New Mexico State University. Her choreographies have been performed at ACDA, UTEP and various dance festivals in Mexico. She is the founder of Pendular Borders, a project that aims to challenge border-crossing dynamics through a binational pendulum-like mobility.

She joined On Board(hers) in 2019 as a workshop facilitator and cultural translator. Today, she runs two groups at the US/Mexico border.
